First of all, all power saving should be turned off for every USB port, controller, etc. I run S3D on a couple different Windows computers without issue. This really doesn't sound specific to Windows. This certainly sounds like an issue with the Windows version of Simplif圓D. I should also mention that overall print quality is slightly better with less apparent retraction artifacts and an absence of occasional small layer gaps. With the OS X version of Simplif圓D installed, I printed the same model (factory file) and no blobs whatsoever occurred.
I have a Mac Mini, circa 2009, that I dropped a SSD and 4Gb of RAM into it to get it working efficiently. Not one to give up on this sort of thing, I thought I’d try a different operating system – specifically OS X Sierra. Then I ran the same model (factory file) with the same settings and the blobs still randomly occurred.

To eliminate this possibility, I setup a new computer running an i7 CPU and a clean installation of Windows 7 and Simplif圓D. So, my thought was that something is going on with my computer - perhaps some process in Windows is interrupting things.
I finally saw the blob occur when the print head paused for about a second during a layer print and with the oozing that occurs when printing normally stops, my blob was formed. By “very random” I mean four or five occurrences on a complex, high-res, 20+ hour model where the blob location is different for each print execution. However, I have been experiencing very random surface blobs (spherical, about 1mm in diameter) on print jobs despite numerous adjustments to correct.
I’ve been using Simplif圓D for Windows with my MakerGear M2 and ABS filament for some time now with excellent results.
